The NG Tube & Tracheostomy Care Simulator is designed to train professionals in the care of patients with respiratory and gastrointestinal problems. This model provides a comprehensive opportunity to practice critical nursing skills for patients with tracheostomies and nasogastric tubes (NG tubes). The simulator features a newly designed head and torso with realistic landmarks, including the trachea, esophagus, lungs, and stomach. Realistic mucous fluids can be created for training by mixing methylcellulose with water to simulate the feel of real nursing. The simulator allows for the practice of procedures such as tracheostomy care, NG tube care, dressing changes, and tube and catheter insertion. Additional exercises include feeding tube insertion, tube flushing and removal, and laryngoscope intubation.
