The leg skeleton with pelvis, flexible foot, and colored muscle markings from Erler-Zimmer is a detailed, life-size anatomical model for illustrating the entire lower extremity. It can be disassembled into the thigh (femur) , shin (tibia) , fibula, and foot . The removable pelvis allows for a realistic representation of the hip joint. The foot is mounted on rubber , allowing the rolling motion and dynamic movement sequences to be demonstrated. Muscle origins are marked in red , muscle insertions in blue —a valuable learning aid for physiotherapy students. The didactically structured instructions with literature references round out the model.
