The "Peter" skeleton is an anatomical therapy skeleton with a movable spine and unilateral muscle markings. It is based on a natural cast of a human skeleton and precisely represents all relevant anatomical details such as fissures, foramina, and processes.
The spine is fully movable and equipped with flexible intervertebral discs. It allows flexion, extension, and rotation movements, behaving similarly to natural discs by compressing or expanding during movement. The spinal cord and exiting spinal nerves are also depicted. This allows for realistic demonstrations of physiological movements as well as incorrect postures and misalignments.
On one side of the body, the muscle origins and insertions are color-coded. These markings were developed in collaboration with physiotherapy instructors and are aligned with the requirements of physiotherapy training. Detailed instructions support their use in teaching.
The skull is disassembled into three parts and corresponds to an idealized standard anatomy. The arms and legs are detachable; one leg can be disassembled at the knee, and the foot is separately removable. The shoulder, hip, and ankle joints are designed as gliding joints, allowing for both rotational and gliding movements. The shoulder blades are mounted to move and follow the arm movements.
The model is made of durable plastic. It comes on a 5-star safety wheeled stand, which ensures stability and easy transport.
This product is intended solely for teaching, training and demonstration purposes and is not suitable for diagnostic or therapeutic applications on patients.
