The Pediatric Caudal Injection Simulator is a sophisticated training manikin that simulates the performance of caudal blocks and lumbar punctures in children. This manikin represents a 12-month-old infant in the left lateral decubitus position with the head and knees flexed, which is the position required for these procedures. The simulator is anatomically correct and provides a realistic representation of the coccyx and sacral hiatus to make practicing caudal injections and lumbar punctures as realistic as possible. Additionally, the manikin includes an embedded iliac crest, a removable spine, and two soft skin pads—one transparent for anatomical preparation and one opaque for advanced training. The manikin provides immediate feedback on correct needle placement, as fluid exudes when the needle is successfully inserted. This training device allows learners to practice both caudal injections and lumbar punctures in one simulator, making the learning process more efficient and realistic.
