This approximately 30x magnified skin model offers a clear and vivid comparison between healthy skin and various degrees of burns . It is an indispensable teaching aid for medical education , nursing and rescue training , as well as for patient counseling in emergency medicine or wound care .
The model shows four skin sections arranged next to each other:

Normal skin – with intact epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous tissue

1st degree burn – superficial damage to the epidermis, erythema

2nd degree burn – extending into the dermis/hypodermis, with typical blistering
-
3rd degree burn – deep subcutaneous tissue damage
The pathological changes shown are differentiated in color and are worked out in three dimensions in order to make the differences in depth extent, structural destruction and clinical picture realistically understandable.
