This obstetric module allows the manikin to assume various birthing positions , such as supine , lateral , and quadrupedal positions , allowing realistic practice of birth maneuvers and techniques. With this model, obstetricians and midwives can practice perineal protection , simulate birth in the cephalic or breech presentation , and perform forceps and vacuum extraction . In addition, the model offers the opportunity to practice clamping and cutting the umbilical cord , delivery of the placenta , and examination of the amniotic sac . Insertion of a urinary catheter is also possible, allowing for comprehensive birth and emergency care training.
