This adult male simulator is specifically designed to train medical professionals in various suctioning , ventilation , and airway care techniques . The simulator provides a comprehensive and detailed replication of the human respiratory system , including the mouth , nasal opening , pharynx , epiglottis , trachea , esophagus , stoma , cricoid cartilage , as well as the bronchi and bronchial tree .
The esophagus ends 5 cm below the tracheal opening , allowing for realistic training of suctioning and ventilation techniques. The simulator is particularly useful for practicing oral , nasopharyngeal , nasotracheal , and tracheal suctioning techniques , as well as cuff inflation and stoma care . Learners can also practice changing dressings and slings .
A viewing window in the neck allows for visual monitoring of the suction catheter and ventilation tube placement . From the bottom of the simulator, the placement of the suction catheter in the right (visible) or left bronchus (invisible) can be checked, allowing for even more detailed training. Tracheostomy tubes are not included but can be used separately.
