This simulator is an ideal training tool for teaching both patients and caregivers various suctioning techniques , proper cuff inflation , dressing changes , and other medical techniques. The simulator includes a variety of realistic anatomical structures, such as the oral and nasal passages , pharynx , epiglottis , trachea , esophagus , tracheostomy site , and cricoid cartilage . This detailed anatomy allows for accurate simulation of nursing practices , including tracheostomy care .
The mouth and jaw are movable, allowing for realistic oral suctioning . The trachea branches into the left and right bronchial trees , allowing suctioning of the airways in different areas. The external tracheal site can be cared for and cleaned just as required for a real patient.
The model comes with a tracheostomy tube , instructions for use and a hard case to allow safe and easy storage and transport.
