The Erler-Zimmer arm skeleton with shoulder girdle is an anatomical teaching model for illustrating the bony structures of the upper extremity. The model is based on a true-to-life cast of a human arm skeleton and includes the removable shoulder girdle, upper arm, forearm, and hand. It is designed for use in training, teaching, and clear demonstrations.
This design allows for the demonstration of arm movement mechanics. This includes the rotational movements of the forearm bones (pronation and supination) as well as movements in the wrist area. The hand is flexibly mounted on wire, which allows the spatial relationships of the hand bones to be demonstrated, along with typical hand and finger positions.
The removable shoulder girdle allows for separate examination of anatomical relationships in the shoulder area. The model supports the visual understanding of joint mechanics and the bony arrangement of the shoulder, arm, and hand.
This teaching model is intended for use in medical and anatomical education, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, orthopedics, and sports medicine. It serves solely to illustrate anatomical structures and movement sequences and is not intended for diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical applications. Use outside of its intended teaching and demonstration purpose is prohibited.
