The CLEARTEST Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase IgA Rapid Test is an immunological test for the qualitative determination of tissue transglutaminase antibodies (tTG-IgA) in citrated blood, serum, and capillary blood from a finger prick. The test is intended as an aid in the diagnosis of celiac disease (gluten intolerance) and is to be administered exclusively by medically trained personnel. Celiac disease is a chronic disorder of the small intestine caused by a toxic reaction to gluten. The test serves not only for initial diagnosis but also for monitoring disease progression and ruling out IgA deficiency.
Areas of application:
-
Diagnosis of celiac disease: The test serves as a supportive measure for the diagnosis of gluten intolerance, especially in cases of suspected celiac disease.
-
Monitoring: The test is also helpful for monitoring patients who have already been diagnosed with celiac disease and are responding to a gluten-free diet.
-
Exclusion of IgA deficiency: By determining IgA levels, it is ensured that the patient does not have an IgA deficiency, which occurs in approximately 3 to 7% of people with celiac disease.
Advantages at a glance:
-
High sensitivity and specificity: A sensitivity of 98%, a specificity of 96.67% and an accuracy of 98% ensure reliable results.
-
Fast evaluation: The test result is displayed after just 10 minutes.
-
Easy to perform: The test comprises only three steps: sampling, sample preparation, and test administration.
-
Versatile samples: The test can be performed with citrate blood, serum or capillary blood from the fingertip.
Further information:
-
The Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase IgA rapid test uses monoclonal antibodies that are gold-labeled on a membrane zone and are specific for human IgA antibodies.
-
The test detects antibody concentrations from >5 mlU/l to 500 mlU/ml .
-
Early and accurate diagnosis of celiac disease is important in order to start a gluten-free diet, which makes the damage to the intestines reversible.
