The Abbott hCG Pregnancy Test is a rapid cassette test for the qualitative detection of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in urine. Intended for use in a medical setting, the test provides results in approximately 4 minutes at hCG concentrations of ≥ 25 mIU/ml. The result is indicated visually by the appearance of pink lines. The test is used for early pregnancy detection in settings including gynecological and general medical practices, clinical laboratories, hospitals and emergency rooms, and diagnostic centers. It is administered using a urine sample. The test cassettes are individually sealed and supplied with disposable pipettes to ensure hygienic handling. The test principle is based on immunochromatography. The test is intended exclusively for professional use by healthcare professionals and is supplied by Abbott .
