The Erler-Zimmer intravenous injection training arm is a field-proven simulation model for realistic training of intravenous injection techniques , particularly for the median cubital vein . The model was specifically developed for the training of medical professionals, emergency services, and nursing schools and has also been proven in daily use, for example, by the German Armed Forces.
Made of soft, skin-like plastic , the arm features replaceable skin and a replaceable injection site in the crook of the elbow with an integrated vein. The vein can be visualized and easily palpated through stasis – the behavior of a convoluted vein can also be realistically simulated with lubricant.
