Sorbalgon from Hartmann are drug-free, tamponable compresses and tampon strips made of calcium alginate fibers. Upon contact with wound exudate or blood, the fibers transform into a soft, hydrophilic gel that does not stick to the wound. This gel adapts perfectly to the wound structure, filling it and creating a favorable, moist microclimate for healing. At the same time, germs are trapped within the gel structure, reducing the risk of infection.
Areas of application:
Deep or superficial wounds with moderate to heavy exudation, leg ulcers, pressure sores, postoperative wounds, wounds at risk of infection or difficult to access, especially when used as a tamponade.
