This moulage depicts an ileostomy , the second most common type of stoma . The end ileostomy is usually located on the right side of the body and shows the small intestine sewn in above skin level, allowing for a realistic and precise representation of the stoma. The special plastic compound used to make the moulage ensures that all common stoma bags adhere to the moulage, providing realistic training opportunities.
The model is ideal for determining the size using a stoma template , cleansing the skin with water , and attaching the baseplate and stoma bag . It is specifically designed for stoma care training and helps realistically practice the care and handling of an ileostomy. The moulage is mounted in a holder and can also be removed to enable various training scenarios.
