The Difficult Airway Management Simulator provides a comprehensive training environment for users of all experience levels. Featuring 24 different patient cases (including one normal case), this simulator allows for the practice and learning of airway management techniques in a variety of clinical and pre-hospital scenarios. The model's robust construction and stable base make it particularly suitable for emergency training as well as daily care. A variety of real-life clinical instruments, such as laryngoscopes, resuscitation bags, and video laryngoscopes, can be used in the exercises to optimize the learning process.
Areas of application:
-
Medical training centers for emergency medicine, anesthesia and intensive care medicine
-
Hospitals and clinics for continuing education in airway management
-
Emergency services and pre-hospital training to improve skills in emergency situations
-
Emergency and intensive care training facilities for conducting realistic simulations of respiratory complications
Advantages at a glance:
-
24 variations of patient scenarios (including a normal case) to adapt the exercises to different levels of difficulty
-
3 levels of mouth opening and 2 levels of neck mobility to adapt to realistic patient conditions
-
2 tongue sizes and 2 vocal cord positions to simulate different anatomical challenges
-
Robust and stable structure for use in various training environments, including emergency and pre-hospital care
-
Realistic reactions : The upper incisors break under excessive pressure, which increases the authenticity of the model
-
Versatile applications : Use of real clinical instruments such as laryngoscope, resuscitation bag, Guedel tube, Wendl tube and laryngeal mask
Training options:
-
Airway opening techniques , including head-over and Esmarch maneuver
-
Bag ventilation and assessment of the airway before intubation
-
Establishing the sniffing position and performing laryngeal pressure maneuvers
-
Oral and nasal intubation as well as use of a Guedel tube and Wendl tube
-
Using a laryngeal mask
-
Video laryngoscopy for detailed visualization of intubation
-
Verification of successful intubation by observing chest or abdominal elevation (lung expansion, stomach filling) or auscultation of the chest
-
Simulation of faulty intubations such as esophageal intubation or unilateral intubation
-
Securing the tube after successful intubation
Further information:
-
The simulator allows for the practice of all basic and advanced techniques in airway management, including the use of video laryngoscopy and various intubation methods.
-
By reviewing intubation results through observation of chest and abdominal movements and auscultation, the trainee can learn to confirm correct placement of the endotracheal tube and identify incorrect intubations.
-
Special simulation of complications such as esophageal intubation or unilateral intubation enables targeted practice of corrective measures.
