The Suction Assisted Laryngoscopy and Airway Decontamination (SALAD) Simulator is an advanced training manikin specifically designed to practice and improve endotracheal intubation in a non-anesthetized patient with acute vomiting. This simulator utilizes a suction technique to promote first pass success (FPS) during intubation and optimize airway management techniques.
The model supports a variety of intubation methods , including oral, digital, and nasal intubation , as well as the use of endotracheal tubes, esophageal obturator airway (EOA) tubes , pharyngotracheal lumen (PTL) tubes , laryngeal mask ventilation , Combitube , and King systems . It allows for vomit suction and proper cuff inflation , which is especially important in patients with acute vomiting.
