The EASi Age Simulator was developed based on many years of research in the field of age-related physiology and perception. It provides a striking change of perspective and conveys the physical and sensory changes of the natural aging process in a practical way. The suit is ideal for training in nursing, healthcare professions, social work, and customer service – wherever a better understanding of the needs of older people is required.
The aim is to promote empathy through personal experience of movement restrictions and sensory changes, to rethink courses of action and to recognize barriers - be it in everyday working life, in public spaces or in product design and communication.
Simulated signs of aging:
- Increased perception of gravity due to age-related muscle atrophy (noticeable from around the age of 30)
- Impaired sensory perception due to visual, auditory and motor changes
