This brand-new simulator offers a complete training opportunity for the placement of peripheral central venous catheters (PICCs). It is the only one of its kind that allows the entire procedure to be performed – from needle insertion and handling of the PICC to precise placement of the distal end in the superior vena cava. The simulator offers access via both the basilic and cephalic veins to practice different levels of cannulation difficulty. With an interchangeable ultrasound puncture pad and anatomically correct venous bifurcations, the simulator enables realistic and comprehensive training. The movable shoulder allows you to practice arm positioning and avoid potential catheter misplacement. This makes the simulator an ideal training tool for physicians as well as clinical and radiological specialists.
Areas of application:
-
Education and training for doctors, nurses and radiological specialists
-
Simulation of ultrasound-guided venous access for emergency medicine and intensive care
-
Clinics and hospitals for training in the safe placement of PICC
-
Training in ultrasound techniques and the handling of PICC catheters
Advantages at a glance:
-
Complete practice of PICC placement from needle insertion to placement of the distal end in the superior vena cava
-
Replaceable ultrasound puncture pad for realistic training scenarios
-
Mobile shoulders for practicing arm positioning and avoiding misalignments
-
Anatomically correct bifurcations of the veins with realistic resistance of the vein wall
-
Verification of the puncture by the “flash-back” mechanism to control needle placement
-
Ribs and clavicle present to correctly estimate the catheter length and control the placement of the catheter tip
-
Simulation of complications such as misplacement of the catheter into the jugular vein, thoracodorsal vein or subclavian vein
Further information:
-
The simulator supports precise placement of the PICC catheter and provides a realistic representation of the anatomical structures, helping trainees develop anatomical understanding and correct catheter placement.
-
By practicing the entire procedure, both basic and advanced techniques in handling PICC catheters can be trained.
