The Pressure Ulcer / Decubitus Model was developed to illustrate the various stages of pressure ulcers (bedsores), which commonly occur in patients who lie in one place for extended periods of time. These wounds can range from superficial redness to deep, open wounds, often extending to the bone and containing dead tissue. The model demonstrates all four stages of pressure ulcers and is a valuable tool for training in the care and treatment of pressure ulcers. Each stage of the pressure ulcer is reproduced in detail and realistically to provide an accurate representation of disease progression and the required care processes. The models are constructed from lifelike skin materials to provide learners with an authentic feel.
