The Cleartest Strep B is a qualitative immunological rapid test that detects group B streptococci from vaginal or rectal swabs in pregnant women and from skin swabs in newborns. This test is frequently used to rule out a possible infection shortly before birth and to establish a rapid diagnosis. The test should be performed no earlier than 3 weeks before delivery and is not part of routine prenatal care.
