Bactigras by Smith & Nephew is a sterile, antiseptic paraffin gauze dressing impregnated with chlorhexidine. The dressing provides effective protection against infection, as the chlorhexidine it contains is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The soft gauze is soaked in paraffin, which prevents it from sticking to the wound and provides pain relief. Ideal for use on wounds at risk of infection or for the follow-up care of already infected wounds.
Areas of application:
For the treatment of infected or potentially infected wounds, burns, abrasions, skin grafts, cuts, leg ulcers, pressure sores and surgical wounds.

Further information:
Bactigras is applied in combination with a suitable secondary dressing. Depending on the wound condition, the dressing can remain on the wound for up to three days. The paraffin gauze ensures an even distribution of the active ingredient and protects the wound tissue from drying out.
