Algoplaque is a self-adhesive, flexible, and conformable hydrocolloid dressing with a semi-occlusive polyurethane backing. The dressing is waterproof and bacteria-proof, ensuring safe and hygienic wound care. Algoplaque is primarily used for chronic wounds in the granulation phase, when the wound has a healthy environment. The dressing supports healing by maintaining a moist environment while protecting the wound from external influences. Specialized versions are also available, such as Algoplaque Sacrum with a flattened adhesive border for the sacral area and Algoplaque Border with a flattened adhesive border for problem areas.
