This moulage depicts the sacral region with a surgically debrided pressure ulcer. Necrotic tissue has been completely removed, and existing wound pockets realistically illustrate the condition of a wound after surgical debridement. The detailed rendering vividly conveys the typical structure and depth of an advanced pressure ulcer in the postoperative stage.
The moulage is available either as a freshly cleaned wound or with simulated wound exudate. This allows for the realistic representation of different phases of wound healing and various care situations. The model is particularly suitable for explaining and practicing vacuum-assisted wound healing (NPWT), as its shape, depth, and wound edges are optimally adapted to this therapy.
A key detail is the realistically rendered anal cleft. It illustrates the particular challenges of applying dressings in the sacral region and enables practical training under difficult anatomical conditions. The moulage is held in a specific position but can be easily removed to allow for further training and demonstration scenarios.
