Smith & Nephew 's SKIN-PREP skin barrier wipes are specially formulated to enhance the adhesive properties of adhesive dressings while protecting the skin . When applied to intact skin , the liquid evaporates and forms a thin, transparent protective film that acts as a barrier between the skin and the adhesive. This film reduces pain during dressing changes , protects against skin irritation, and minimizes the risk of skin damage when removing plasters, ostomy care, or other adhesive medical devices.
Application is simple: a single layer is sufficient to achieve the desired level of protection. The formulation is latex-free , waterproof , and designed for single use —ideal for hospitals, nursing homes, or outpatient care.
