BD Vacutainer® CPT™ tubes (Cell Preparation Tubes) are an innovative, patented system for the rapid and standardized isolation of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) directly from whole blood – in a single step. The tube contains a combined density separation system of FICOLL™ and gel , which enables reliable separation of PBMCs from other blood cells during centrifugation. The entire process takes only approximately 30 minutes and eliminates the otherwise necessary overlayering, dilution, or manual pipetting.

The BD CPT™ tube enables efficient, reproducible cell separation and is particularly suitable for clinical studies, immunological tests, or molecular biology analyses. Direct blood collection into the tube significantly simplifies and standardizes the entire workflow. After centrifugation, the mononuclear cells remain above the gel barrier and can be conveniently processed further.
