The CLEARTEST Calprotectin stool rapid test is a qualitative in-vitro diagnostic test for the detection of the biomarker calprotectin in stool. Calprotectin is a leukocyte protein derived from neutrophils, the concentration of which can be elevated during inflammatory processes in the gastrointestinal tract. The test serves as an initial assessment of inflammatory activity in the intestine.
An elevated calprotectin level, typically above 50 µg/g stool, can indicate inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, or diverticulitis. The test supports the differential diagnosis of inflammatory and functional bowel diseases, as well as the monitoring of known disease patterns.
The evaluation is performed visually within approximately five minutes after sample preparation. The CLEARTEST Calprotectin is designed for use in medical practices, hospitals, and diagnostic facilities and can be integrated into the point-of-care workflow without additional equipment.
The test results serve as diagnostic support and should always be evaluated within the overall clinical context and, if necessary, in combination with further laboratory and imaging tests. The test is intended exclusively for professional in-vitro diagnostic use and is not for self-testing.
