Mesalt® from Mölnlycke is a sterile saline compress or tamponade for the intensive cleansing and care of inflamed or infected wounds . The special impregnation with sodium chloride (table salt) creates an osmotic effect that actively draws exudate, cell debris, and bacteria from the wound. This promotes rapid wound cleansing and creates optimal conditions for wound healing – without the use of antiseptic agents.
Mesalt® is particularly suitable for heavily exuding, infected, or chronic wounds, as well as wound cavities or fistulas where packing is necessary. It is a cost-effective solution for hospitals, practices, and home care.
