Melgisorb® from Mölnlycke is a highly absorbent alginate wound dressing suitable for use as both a compress and a tamponade in deep, exuding wounds. Made from natural calcium sodium alginate , the dressing reacts upon contact with wound exudate, forming a soft, moldable gel . This creates the so-called gel-block effect , which allows for optimal adaptation to the wound shape— no cutting required .
Melgisorb® is particularly suitable for moderately to heavily exuding, even infected, wounds where high absorption capacity is required. It supports a moist wound environment and creates favorable conditions for healing.
