The Clearview Strep A test strip is an immunochromatographic in vitro rapid diagnostic test for the qualitative detection of group A streptococcal antigens from throat swab samples. It serves as an adjunct to the diagnosis of suspected streptococcal pharyngitis, such as tonsillitis or pharyngitis, and is intended for professional use only.
The test enables timely evaluation directly at the point of care and supports structured decision-making in everyday clinical practice. The test result is available within minutes and can be interpreted without additional laboratory equipment. Its simple and standardized procedure facilitates its use in doctors' offices, hospitals, laboratories, and emergency and on-call services.
A throat swab is used as the sample material. The test method is based on a proven immunochromatographic procedure for qualitative antigen detection. The Clearview Strep A test strip is not intended for self-testing and is designed for trained medical professionals for the rapid clarification of bacterial causes of sore throats.
