The Erler-Zimmer child skull, 3-year-old, is an anatomical teaching model used to illustrate the skull structures of a child around three years old. Based on a natural cast, the model serves to clearly demonstrate the developmental and varied anatomical features of the child's skull.
The model demonstrates characteristic features of this age stage, including several intercalated bones (Worm's bones) in the region of the lambdoid suture and an epipteric bone in the pterygoid region. These structures are depicted in detail in the model, allowing for a differentiated examination of rare and variable skull features in childhood.
This teaching model is designed for use in medical and anatomical education, including anatomy lessons, pediatric teaching, osteology, and osteopathy. It serves solely to illustrate anatomical structures and does not fulfill any diagnostic or therapeutic function.
Due to its realistic design, the model is suitable for demonstrations in classrooms, training rooms, or as part of presentations. Use outside of its intended teaching and demonstration purpose is not permitted.
