This birth injury simulator serves as a practical training model for teaching techniques to treat common birth injuries. It allows students and medical professionals to realistically practice various episiotomy incisions and different degrees of perineal tears, as well as their proper care. The model supports the learning of both cutting and suturing techniques and is particularly suitable for training in obstetrics.
The model realistically depicts relevant anatomical structures, including the bulbocavernosus muscle, the transversus perinei muscle, and the external anal sphincter. These muscles can be selectively incised and then sutured to realistically simulate different types and severities of birth injuries. The durable fabric provides an authentic training experience and conveys the tactile qualities of wound care during childbirth.
The simulator is mounted on a stable stand and comes complete with suture material and appropriate instruments to ensure the most realistic training possible. It is designed for use in medical training centers and obstetric training programs and supports structured instruction in the management of birth injuries.
