The whole-body X-ray phantom serves for practical training in projection radiography as well as in positioning and positioning techniques. It enables the production of realistic X-ray images under training conditions and depicts anatomical structures in their natural size.
The phantom contains a natural human skeleton. Additionally, the outlines of the larynx, lungs, heart, and kidneys are integrated, appearing as shadows on the X-ray images. This allows for the creation of images that accurately reflect the conditions found in patients. The use of a real skeleton enables the identification of bony landmarks that are not visible in plastic models.
The joints are mounted with full mobility, allowing positioning in common radiological standard positions, including special positions such as the frog position and pronation and supination of the forearm. The arms can be raised, so the phantom can also be used for bone examinations in CT scans. Particular attention was paid during assembly to the realistic representation of the joint spaces.
Each phantom is a handcrafted, unique piece. Variations in size, design, and appearance are possible. Depending on the model, pathological findings may be present. The revised design was developed in collaboration with a German training institution for medical-technical radiology assistants and meets the requirements of modern training concepts.
