This life-size foot model represents an advanced stage of diabetic foot syndrome following ray resection. The ray resection was performed due to necrosis and a deep ulcer and is realistically reproduced anatomically. The model also shows other typical changes of the diabetic foot, such as multiple ulcers, lesions, and pronounced skin fissures.
The detailed design allows for a clear illustration of complex wound conditions, such as those frequently observed in patients with diabetes mellitus. This makes the model ideally suited for practical training in wound management as well as for general nursing education. The depicted wounds and skin changes enable realistic practice in the assessment, care, and treatment of diabetic foot complications.
The design for attaching to nursing mannequins allows for a particularly realistic simulation in training and educational settings. Nurses and trainees can thus practice wound care techniques directly on a mannequin and realistically simulate complex nursing situations.
