The blood pressure simulator with iPod user interface is a standalone training system for the realistic simulation of blood pressure measurements and the auscultation of Korotkoff sounds. The system allows for the precise adjustment of all relevant blood pressure parameters and is suitable for the structured training of medical professionals. Systolic and diastolic blood pressure values can be varied in 2 mmHg increments from 0 to 300 mmHg. The simulator also features a palpable, adjustable radial pulse and adjustable volume for the Korotkoff sounds at the elbow. The auscultatory gap and pulse rate are also individually adjustable to realistically depict different clinical situations. A connection for an external speaker facilitates use in group training. The system can be powered by batteries or an AC adapter, enabling both mobile and stationary use. Included in the package are an iPod for controlling the user interface, an AC adapter, a blood pressure cuff, and a carrying case for storage and transport of the system.
