Sorbalgon® Classic is a highly effective wound dressing made of calcium alginate fibers , particularly suitable for the treatment of bleeding and heavily exuding wounds . Upon contact with wound exudate or blood, the calcium alginate fibers react with the sodium salts they contain to form a hydrophilic, non-stick gel . This gel evenly fills the wound , traps germs, and creates a moist, healing-promoting wound environment .
Thanks to its soft structure, the compress adapts very well to irregularly shaped wound surfaces and is therefore particularly suitable for tamponing – even in deep or hard-to-reach wounds.
