Duramax S from Smith & Nephew is a highly absorbent wound dressing with a silicone wound contact layer , developed for the treatment of heavily exuding and malodorous wounds . The innovative 6-layer design provides excellent exudate management and ensures an optimal, moist wound environment , even under compression. The dressing is particularly suitable for chronic and acute wounds , including diabetic foot ulcers , venous leg ulcers , arterial ulcers , second-degree burns , and post-operative and traumatic wounds .
The wound dressing has a breathable, water vapor permeable cover film and a self-adhesive silicone wound contact layer that allows gentle removal and repositioning – ideal for patients with sensitive skin.

Duramax S offers an excellent balance of adhesion, flexibility, and absorption . The cross-linked silicone surface ensures that the dressing does not adhere to the wound bed, reducing the risk of pain and tissue damage during dressing changes. The dressing can also be used under standardized compression therapy (up to 40 mmHg) without losing its absorbency.
