LAVANOX-Serag Wound Irrigation Solution and Wound Spray are medical devices for cleaning and infection prophylaxis of acute and chronic wounds. The electrochemically activated mineral salt solution with < 0.08% sodium hypochlorite or hypochlorous acid (NaOCl / HOCl) enables effective decontamination with high tissue compatibility.
The mechanical rinsing action reliably removes wound debris, biofilm, microorganisms, and residues. The solution is broadly effective against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores, including multi-resistant pathogens such as MRSA, MRE, and Pseudomonas. The development of resistance is not to be expected. Additionally, the application helps to reduce unpleasant wound odors and contributes to creating a healing-promoting wound environment.
LAVANOX-Serag is suitable for cleaning wounds at risk of infection, for intraoperative irrigation of the wound area, and for the treatment of burns, for example, second-degree burns. Furthermore, the solution can be used to keep tampons, compresses, and dressings moist, as well as in conjunction with negative pressure wound therapy. The application is carried out with each dressing change by direct irrigation from the bottle or aseptically via a spike. The spray allows targeted application to smaller or hard-to-reach areas. After opening, the product must be used within two months.
