The CLEARTEST light H-FABP/Troponin I is a chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of human heart-type fatty acid binding protein (H-FABP) and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in whole blood, serum, or plasma. The test serves as a supplementary tool in professional in-vitro diagnostics for assessing potential myocardial damage. The detection limits are 8 ng/ml for H-FABP and 0.5 ng/ml for troponin I.
H-FABP is an early-release cardiac marker whose concentration in the blood rises shortly after myocardial injury and then falls again within a limited time window. Troponin I complements this early marker with a longer detection window. The combination of both parameters allows for a temporally differentiated assessment in the diagnostic context.
The test is based on specific anti-H-FABP and anti-cTnI antibodies in combination with appropriate capture reagents. It is intended exclusively for use by medical professionals and not for self-testing.
