The BD Insyte Autoguard BC Pro IV catheter from Becton Dickinson is a peripheral venous catheter with integrated safety and blood control technology for clinical use. The system is designed to reduce blood exposure during vascular access and significantly minimize the risk of disease-carrying needlestick injuries. It thus supports modern hygiene and safety standards in hospitals, emergency rooms, operating rooms, and nursing homes.
The integrated blood control technology prevents uncontrolled blood leakage during venipuncture, helping to reduce cross-contamination and cleaning efforts. Instaflash technology provides immediate visual confirmation of blood reflux, increasing puncture safety. The push-button activated needle safety mechanism can be triggered with one hand and ensures reliable needle locking immediately after use.
The Vialon catheter material is characterized by high tissue compatibility and can support longer dwell times while maintaining a stable flow rate. The catheter is latex-free and DEHP-free and comes in sterile packaging. It is suitable for peripheral venous access in adults and children, depending on the size chosen, and is designed for both routine infusions and demanding applications in infection-prone or hygiene-critical areas.
